The WoW Companion app will allow players to choose between Legion y Battle for Azeroth from the preliminary patch of Shadowlands, and the content of Shadowlands will be available with the release of the expansion.

We also knew that with the arrival of Shadowlands, players would have the option to level up their alternate characters by Legion through the Timewalking Campaigns, and we wanted to make sure those players had full mobile compatibility as they leveled up. We have considered for some time the option of offering only partial functionality from previous expansions to fully dedicate ourselves to the content of Shadowlands, but we soon decided that what we wanted was to recover all the possible functionalities. In addition, the mobile team was eager to give the community what they wanted and to recover the content of Legion. We know that players were disappointed to lose access to content from Legion after the change, so with Shadowlands we are committed to supporting more than one expansion at the same time. The downside was that we couldn't build the necessary infrastructure to support more than one expansion at the same time, so the application was no longer supported Legion and happened to work only with the latest expansion, Battle for Azeroth.
